5 Stars Awesome…
This is awesome… this fits the ultra HD like a glove. We did not have one issue with it during our 7 day family cruise. It was in the pool, the hot tub, going down the water slide, the ocean, and at the turtle farm. It does make the microphone sound a little echoey, but it is in the plastic bubble. This stood up to my daughters bouncing it around on her write and banging into the side of the pool or whatever and did not have a problem at all. You can’t even see any scratches on it. I wish I could find something this affordable for my camera. This is great even just as protection for your camera. It a little bulky, but I actually like that, it makes it much easier to hold the Ultra HD in your hand if you have big hands.
Worth the money for sure if you have kids that want to use your camera. Or need some water protection for whatever you want to do or wherever you want to use it.
5 Stars great, versitle case
I bought this case for our Flip before my boyfriend and I went to Panama for vacation. I love it!!! We are very active people and did a lot of hiking and snorkeling. Although the case is advertised as an underwater case, it is very durable and we ended up keeping our Flip in the case when we were doing active, dry land things. It proved to be a great idea to keep the Flip in the case because my boyfriend tripped and fell while filming me zip-lining. The case took a good hit and was only slightly scratched. I loved using it underwater. The video quality was the same underwater as it was when we used it on land. The case fits very tightly and securely around the Flip keeping it from rattling around, having some sort of distortion of the picture or leaking. My boyfriend had bought an underwater case for his camera, but those pictures did not compare to the stills and videos we got from the Flip. With that camera case, the pictures were hazy, the waterproof lens cover did not fit properly and it also leaked just a bit. The Flip case never let in any water, was very durable and we were thrilled with its versatility. I highly recommend getting this accessory for your Flip!!!
5 Stars Great addition to the Flip
This little case is a great addition to the Flip video camera. It’s easy to use, dependable and fun. I bought it for videoing my 1 year old’s swim lessons but have enjoyed using it anywhere I’m nervous about my Flip getting damaged – boating, fishing, kayaking, swimming, playing in the sprinklers.
The only downside is that you have to remove the wrist cord on the flip before it fits in the case. Minor but inconvenient.
4 Stars Works Well in the Ocean
Used this product in the Atlantic Ocean (at the beach, not diving) and it worked well with no leaks occuring. The only downside is that recording sound is diminished by the case. You can still hear some sounds, but not nearly as well.
3 Stars It works relatively well, but I’ve got my reservations
For the price, you can’t really beat this. It’s got decent construction, and works relatively well in shallow water.
My only reservations were that that when I’d put it under water, I’d see air bubbles coming from the case. Now when I see air escaping, I tend to imagine water entering. Whenever I removed the camera from the case, I never actually saw any leaks or any water on the unit, but it just makes me question the long term viability of such a case, which is why I returned the unit.
Also, this is something that probably can’t be helped, but I wish that the mic would work better above surface. Obviously that’s probably not possible due to the fact you have to keep everything out, including sound, so I didn’t dock stars for that, but I wish you could record audio better.
Bottom line: for the price it works pretty well, I’m just concerned about the long term viability of such a case, and there’s a pretty high price to pay if there are such doubts.
