This thing rocks. So easy to carry, that you can have anywhere. I had it at Kings Dominion and got some fun videos all day long without the use of an expensive to lug or worry about. Its two minus’s if you can call them that are the lack of much zoom 2x and low light is not so good. Medium low light is fine though, in the bumper cars, it adjusted well. Sound could be louder too, but for what it is, it is a thing of fun. Memories that could not be caught without planning, without risking many hundreds of dollars of equipment. No, this has a very special place in my life, and the resolution and quality are great.
I waited a year for this to see if it was worth buying and I should have went with something else.
If you have kids that do a lot of outdoor soccer and sports then the playback quality is great but the battery only lasts about 2 hours so I find myself having to turn it off to conserve the battery life at games and sports events. I have found that the battery doesn’t last the full 2 hours as well and if it is low you have to charge the battery fully just to get the images off of the unit. My friends that wanted me to get this should have told me about the negatives instead of the positives because I could have went with a pro webcam and been able to use it for chatting as well with taking the webcam on my laptop for portability.

Everything positive that others have said about this is true. I only want to add one thing to properly set your expectations involving this .
The image stabilization is non existent. Unless it’s mounted on a tripod the image will nearly always seem shaky. I’m hoping that the next version includes automatic image stabilization, and if it does I’ll purchase it ASAP.

Using this is fun, easy, and you get some fantastic quality from it. Just keep in mind that this is a portable , not a Sony Handheld Camcorder.

I find it kind of a big deal that I can’t make the tip back and point a little upward since it’s on such a short tripod. Alas this isn’t possible with the flimsy legs that aren’t long enough to support it at a backward tilt angle, and lets that can’t hold shape.

The reason I rate this thing 3 stars is because I do not understand why they don’t sell it with the battery pack that they are selling. Maybe they are going to sell different kinds of batteries, but still. Include the dang thing with the battery, it just doesn’t make sense. Are they doing it to make both things more expensive?
Anyways, to the actual product. Works great, charges the battery well without any trouble. Just plug, wait, and then go.

I recently bought the cam so I can record concerts that I attend and other special moments. Its small enough where you can pretty much carry this with you. The zoom is decent on the but you do lose image quality at higher zooms. The only problem I had was when I was recording at the recent Alicia Keys concerts the spotlight on her made it impossible for me to have a clear recording. When I did try to zoom in to capture her, the quality was definitely not as good.
I still love it for what I use it for and was able to even able to use it for my engagement plans.
Definitely worth it!
UltraHD Camcorder, 120 Minutes White
This product was the easiest software I have ever installed. it does everything for you. The product takes excellent videos in MP4 format which will work in iTunes, but unfortunately it has to be converted to MPV format to run on the Apple TV. I used Prizm’s converter and it worked fine. The download of videos is very fast and easy just plug into your USB port , but on a 3.4Ghz PC with 1000 Ram it will take you about 3 5 hours of processing time to make a movie. This bothered me at first, but I got used to just going on to something else while the computer generated the movie. The Channel an online channel s is very easy to use and you can specify who you want to be able to view your videos by setting up channels for family friends, co workers, etc. Everything works flawlessly and greatly exceeded my expectations for the price. There is nothing even close to this on the market. Get it and you will love it ! This was the #1 selling product last Christmas. I would recommend that you get the one with the built in Lithium Ion batteries. I did not. Ni Cads have a memory and you have to cycle them often. Lithiums do not, they just stop working after 1000 charges or so. This is a big deal and keeps you from having to purchase extra batteries and the cycling process is a pain in the you know what.

First off, this model   MinoHD 120min 2nd Gen DOES fit the usb ports on my ASUS EEE 901, as well as the usb ports on my desktop. A few folks seem to have had fit issues with other netbooks so I wanted to clear that up straight away. Otherwise this is a positive review with one or two criticisms.
Out in the wild, the functions pretty much as expected. On/Off is nearly instantaneous and I can have it out and filming within 5 seconds or so. It ships with a partial charge, so you can set preferences and test it right out of the box, which was a nice surprise. Playback on the device is great and the larger screen on this iteration of the MinoHD really helps for on the fly review of what you’ve shot. My one criticism of the hardware would be the ‘shakycam’ issue. Even the teensiest bit of image stabilization would do wonders. Maybe in the 3rd Gen, huh guys??
Back home, however, I have to deal with the included software it installs from the iself via USB, which is nice for those of us without optical drives . I don’t want to be overly critical here   it isn’t buggy, but given the excellent & intuitive nature of the itself, the software left me scratching my head more than once. Playback is also choppy, though I expect that’s more to do with the integrated graphics on the netbook than the software. Perhaps there’s a third party solution out there.
Botton line: if you’re in the market for a no frills, pocketable , this is the one to get unless you have one of the netbooks with which it’s incompatible, obvs .
Product worked well for about two weeks, then completely fails to turn on   product is now useless.
Contacted technical support   they suggest a re set, which I report did not work. No more contacts from technical support after that.
I call tech support, and they give me a code to enter on their RMA web site   which does not work! I ask to speak to a manager after spending over two hours on the phone , only to be told that the manager is too busy to speak to me.
Horrible experience! And an apparent complete waste of $200.

I would have rated this 5 stars expect for 2 issues.
It is well known that these have charging problems. Also if I remove the camcorder from the USB while powered off it will not start again until I remove the battery and put it back in. Reboot It is a hassle trying to get a charge on the battery. Really glad I didn’t get the MinoHD now with no battery access. I wanted to be able to use alkaline AAs in a pinch.
Second the MP4 files are the only output from the . Most software has troubles with them. Apparently they are a little different from some other MP4 files. I could not even use Corel. Finally I used the AVS suite of software to make a .wmv file and Corel to make the DVDs I wanted from the 8mm films the family has.
As far as quality and all it is great. All 8mm are on DVD finally. Just used the little tripod and recorded off the screen. Looks good.
I will just have to fight the battery charging issues but I guess I can live with it for now. Seems to charge a little better with the front of the case off.
This does work real well to make HD videos for YouTube!
I bought this little winner to record a ceremony memorial for my Dad, and it worked beautifully! Not only did I get great picture and sound, it was easy to use and easy to share. Setup was minimal and I was recording in no time. The FlipShare software is almost foolproof to anyone who has used a computer before, and on the first use, I was able to email the videos and post them to Facebook. Very user friendly, compact and portable, and for a klutz like me, not so expensive that I am too paranoid to use read: drop and break it. I can’t wait to use it more!
BTW, I didn’t give the battery life any stars because I only got this yesterday!
I’ve not had my long, but I do love how small it is and the quality of the pictures. Is the zoom useless? kind of. Does it take a while to figure out the uploading of the to your computer? I have a Mac , yes. The guide on the software needs to be more helpful, as not everyone is a computer wiz! Would I buy it again? definitely!
With my digital conking out on me during a family event, I needed to find something that wasn’t bulky, portable, I can easily use on a PC and Mac and would give very good quality . So, after a lot of research, everyone has seemed to rave about the Ultra Camcorder 2nd Generation .
As many have suggested, I also made a purchase of Eneloop rechargeable batteries and didn’t go with the rechargeable battery pack and so far, I have been able to capture a good amount of . Good light conditions, low light conditions and for the most part, it’s easy to use, easy to sync to my Mac and PC and easy to access and pull any videos I need to for direct editing.
The device comes with a pouch, strap and cables to connect to your TV if needed . I did order this device with the   USB cables and people were right. You want those cables to plug in the device because it’s a bit cumbersome to place on a laptop or if you are on an iMac, the back of your computer or the keyboard. So, the cables worked fine and made things easy.
Software was easy to use and PC and Mac software was included in the device. Plug it in and your computer detects it and just install from the new drive. With a Mac, my iPhoto did come up but on the first try, wasn’t able to download to iPhoto but was able to use the software for the Mac quite easily. As for downloading , it’s easy to transfer to your computer and re edit it on editing software if needed. Takes a little time to transfer, depending on the size of the .
And the good thing is that the majority of the reviews from those on Amazon that have been positive were quite right in their assessment of this device. Now, I can’t compare to other similar hardware but for its price, portability and ease of use and the quality from this little device, it’s definitely worth it!
recorder was a gift for my birthday via a gift card so I actually shopped around to see what I could buy with a gift card. I have been pleasantly surprised by the product. The recorder is easy to use, just hit the red button, it starts recording, hit the button again, it stops. It’s small enough to carry in your pocket. One battery, non rechargeable, is a great idea as well because I have too many chargers with batteries that can be at the end of their charge and the user may not know that. By just flipping out the USB connection, you can use the download feature without having to download any software. The can be sent via email. Overall, an excellent product. The is much steadier when viewing on a laptop I use a Macbook . The audio is also pretty good.   I would highly recommend giving this as a gift or owning one. I paid $118 using a gift card and it has been worth every penny.

This is a neat little camcorder that one can carry in a pocket or purse. It takes high quality videos and is easy to transfer to the computer or see on TV with an additional cable . Maybe I’ve missed it, but my only question so far is that I don’t see where it tells me how much battery life is remaining. Haven’t had to recharge it with several uses. One of the strong points is the ‘s ability to take videos in low light situations! No need for bright lights, so you can take them discreetly. I filmed a wedding recently and no one even noticed! Also used it at a Baptism. The funny little tripod helps hold it still,if you want to film very long. I’m quite happy with it’s quality and easy use.
I should mention that the battery cover may be easy to break. I bought a back up battery pack, thinking that I to with two sets, use one up, put in the new one and film for up to 4 hrs. In reality I don’t think it is intended to use that way. One may damage the battery cover if they open it too often.
The USB plug in design is a real problem. I purchased three Cameras for our office. The two UltraHD Camcorder are working great, but this has only worked with our Macs a few times. Most of the time the can’t seem to make a connection to transfer videos or receive a charge. The problem is not just with connecting with the computer, but the does not work well with the   Power Adapter, which I also purchased.
The extra small size has the potential of making this a great , but it’s poor USB design makes this a waste of a purchase.

For those of you who believe monster cable prices are a good deal and reason enough to pay 2000% more than bargain cables then disregard this post. You are paying about 400% more than a cable you can get here on Amazon: Do a search for: Tripp Lite Mini HDMI to HDMI Cable. Works just as good as if not better and cheaper. I compared my cable to one a friend had and couldn’t tell the difference in quality. If you don’t believe that then buy this “monster cable” equivalent. Since one attribute I value is price I rate this a two star because I don’t think you are getting a better product that is 4 times better than a generic. Actually, I don’t think it’s better at all.

This underwater housing worked well and was easy to use. The images were clear and while the audio was a bit muffled out of the water, it was still clear enough to understand.
While it is easy to do so, I would not expect to take the housing on and off the as you get in and out of the water every couple of minutes. You would likely want to dry off at least your hands before opening up the housing.
As with any related device, It is important to grab it out of your bag and use it. It tended to sit in our bag during swim times more than I would have preferred.
Think as if you would put it on for a 30 minute ocean session and take it off when back in your lounger.
The price is right to allow for some great footage in the pool, on the mountain or at the beach.
I used this while snorkeling in Maui. It took great videos of the fish and turtles. It was in the water many hours and performed perfectly. If I had one request it would be that had a underwater setting that would adjust the color of the videos like some underwater cameras have like the Canon D10 underwater .
This is so perfectly designed that it is almost easier to use than without. I found this to be totally remarkable and very user friendly.
I purchased this underwater case for my son for his birthday along with the   recorder. It has been a great product and kept the dry and protected. He did not use in the water, but took in the snow~when it was snowing and for sledding & snowboarding. WOW!! It worked perfect and we are looking forward to using underwater. recorder was a gift for my birthday via a gift card so I actually shopped around to see what I could buy with a gift card. I have been pleasantly surprised by the product. The recorder is easy to use, just hit the red button, it starts recording, hit the button again, it stops. It’s small enough to carry in your pocket. One battery, non rechargeable, is a great idea as well because I have too many chargers with batteries that can be at the end of their charge and the user may not know that. By just flipping out the USB connection, you can use the download feature without having to download any software. The can be sent via email. Overall, an excellent product. The is much steadier when viewing on a laptop I use a Macbook . The audio is also pretty good.   I would highly recommend giving this as a gift or owning one. I paid $118 using a gift card and it has been worth every penny.
