5 Stars Great deal, works just like Canon!
This is a great battery. After 2 full uses of both this one and the original Canon battery that came with my camera, they both seem to last the same and it works great. Plus it’s a fraction of the cost of a Canon. Great deal!

5 Stars Use this battery for Canon SD780 IS Pocket Camera
Seems to be a good replacement for the lithium battery used by the Canon SD780 IS pocket camera. I bought two of them that I keep charged as extra spares for the OEM Canon battery that came with the camera. I never run out of electrical juice, and use the camera freely, knowing I have spare backup batteries to keep the camera going. A small investment for assurance that the camera will work when I want it and need it.

4 Stars good for the price
I did the following test:

(1) charged the new battery to full capacity;

(2) used it in a Powershot SD750 to capture video, depleting the battery completely;

(3) charged to full capacity again;

(4) now captured video again: This 900mAh battery lasts about 75% as long as my genuine Canon battery (760mAh), and doesn’t last as long as the 760mAh battery from Lenmar.

Conclusion: considering the price difference, it is a great bargain and perfect as a backup battery.

Caveats: (1) the OEM’s battery life may deteriorate much faster and may not last as many cycles as the genuine batteries. I can only find out in the future.

(2) I am not sure it is as safe. but there is no way to find out.

(3) I tested only one sample. Performance may vary across batteries (particularly for OEM ones)

1 Star Pay Attention to the One Star Reviews: very short battery life
I bought this with my SD960IS to give me a “charger” while I had one battery in the camera. I read the reviews of some saying it was as good as the Canon and others saying it wouldn’t hold a charge. I love a bargain so I took the gamble. Even at less than $10, this item is NOT worth it. My Canon battery charged and worked for several days. At the end I was zooming in and out and playing video trying to get the battery to die so I could try this battery. The Canon lasted long after the battery warning came on. This battery charged for those several days, but after a few photos started to flash low battery warnings. I never even got the chance to try video on it. If you’re at an event, this would give you about 45minutes of life. No problem if you are at home and have your second battery charging- it will get you through the gap. But if you’re away from a charging place, say out and about on vacation, this battery does not fill the bill. I’m really disappointed and wished I had put the money towards a Canon battery equal to the one that came with the camera.

good backup battery or replacement and very cheap compared to the original, thats why it a generic version but very good product
