Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash for Canon Digital SLR Cameras
Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash for Canon Digital SLR Cameras

Bringing a new level of versatility and capability to flash photography, the Speedlite 430EX II features a powerful flash (guide number of 141 ft./43m at ISO 100) with a fast recycling time in a compact, durable body. A one-touch quick-lock mechanism makes it easy to attach or detach the 430EX II from the camera and a metal foot has been added for strength and durability. Flash controls can now be set through the camera’s LCD screen on compatible EOS Digital SLR cameras. The Speedlite 430EX II is also quieter, recycle time is 20 percent faster (as compared to the 430EX) and since it is compatible with Canon’s wireless E-TTL, it can be used as an affordable “slave unit.”

5 Stars It’s canon, enough said
A photographer friend told me to purchase a flash that was of the same make of my camera, and to spend as much money on it as I could afford. Well, I probably could stretch and afford the model above this, but this is a great flash. For inside shots, outside low light shots, and even for putting that extra bit of umpf into your shot on a sunny day. If all you have used is the pop up flash on your camera, you will be amazed. One of my best purchases in my camera accessories so far.
5 Stars Wow Wow Wow !!!
This is the first Speedlite I ever used, and I’m really impressed! The quality, features, and ease of use are all top notch, and there’s no hi pitched whine noise between flashes either. I considered several other off brands (Sigma, Nisan) but in the end I really wanted a Canon flash to go with my 500D. I’m very satisfied.
The ONLY criticism I can make is that the flash is pretty heavy, but I suppose that comes with packing everything into such a small package.
5 Stars Great product
Very nice improvement compared to the now archaic pop up flash – it renders the flash on my XS pretty much useless, I don’t need that any more after I purchased this item. I am by no means close to being a pro, but with this Speedlite, my photos have more life and don’t look overexposed like they did earlier with the original XS flash. Very pleased with this purchase.
1 Star Poor Customer Service
I ordered the 430EX II, but instead received the 430EX. After 2 emails I have received no reply. Poor customer service, ripped me off. I wish I could rate it 0 stars. The 430 EX works fine and all, but I thought I was getting the 430EX II.
5 Stars AF ASSIST!!!
Best $248 I have spent on my DSLR.
The AF Assist beam alone is worth it.
I have the 270EX and it is a little toy compared to this.
5/5
