User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Coolpix case
This case does fit like a glove. It is sturdy and should give excellent protection to the Coolpix S-4000 I purchased recently.

4 Stars It Could Work For You
Just combined a Nikon Coolpix S8000 with the Nikon 5811 Coolpix Leather Case in a non-intended way, but love the results. It was a shock to slide my brand new camera into a case that came up on Amazon, as I placed the order, and find that it was not long enough, with the camera inside, to allow the magnetic closure to fasten. Once the inner tabs at the bottom of the case were pulled to the outside, the combo worked like a gem, though a bit strange to have “bunny ears” sticking out. Following a couple weeks of use, the ears are hugging around the bottom of the case, hardly noticeable. The case is very well made, quite protective, and fits like a glove, taking up no extra space. I just have to be sure the battery is adequately charged and there is sufficient memory card space, for there is no extra room for anything, unless you would slide the item under the belt loop, which I do not use. If you are looking for a nice protective case, small enough to make the camera always accessible in a pocket or purse, this combination can fit the bill.

4 Stars Caution: fits exactly the camera size
I didn’t pay attention to some reviews and made a mistake buying this case, it fits perfectly the S630 camera, but, that is it. there is no room for anything else!

I always carry a spare battery and it is not possible with this case.

This is the only problem I see, it is very well made and the magnetic lock is perfect (silent and efficient).

5 Stars Pretty, safe, and effective.
This case is attractive and fits my Coolpix s570 perfectly. The only catch is that I have to insert the camera’s end without the strap knob first in order for it to fit comfortably.

If it were priced at $40, I would say it was overpriced. But at <$20, this case is a deal.

1 Star can’t beathe glove
If you want snug, youv’e got it. Suck in your breath to slide it in and out.

1 Star Great Cam

Basically its a good camera. ordered on 12th Apr, but still didn’t recieve it (3-May).

Electronic-expo is the seller and they doesnt have the stock, they put it on back order.

People who looking for immediate order, don’t order here.

5 Stars Like a pro camera!
Lots of features and lightweight. If you like basic and pro features this is it. You can purchase additional accesories later on if you want to.

1 Star Poor Customer Service
Nikon D5000 12.3 MP DX Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens and 2.7-inch Vari-angle LCD

We bought this camera with high expectations and after the first day of using it (only really took about 40 pictures) we downloaded the pictures into our computer. The next day, I went to turn on the camera and it would not turn on. We tried everything and finally called Nikon. A quick over the phone analysis by the customer service rep was done and he simply said to mail it back to them. No apologies, little explanation and nothing set up to cover shipping charges. I called back to talk to a second rep and again was told that the shipping costs were on me!

I spent over $10.00 to ship it back and a week later they are “waiting for parts” to complete the repair. Keep in mind that this is a brand new camera that we spent a lot of money on. Maybe Nikon is not what it used to be.

5 Stars great Nikon!
we bought this camera off Amazon.com and we asolutely love it. This is our first DSLR camera, so we are not experts, but this camera make you feel like an expert. It’s so easy to use that we were taking professional quality photos in no time. It takes some getting use to if you are stepping up from a point-n-shoot camera due to the size, options, and lens. We started out with only using the Auto setting, but after reading the manual a few times we moved on to use some of the other fabulous settings, options, and even going into manuual mode to take the perfect picture. This camera is for the amateur and the pro. I would recommend this camere to anyone who could afford it.

5 Stars A Great Buy
I bought the Nikon D5000 SLR camera with the understanding that it was the best SLR on the market in the amateur professional category. While it lacks some of the features of the more expensive D90 it certainly is an upgrade from the D60 I had been previously using. It is a solid basic SLR camera with video technology and a reversible screen for those hard to picture shots that is easy to learn the basics of and yet complex enough to grow along with the user. I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in purchasing an SLR camera.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Takes a bit of re-learning not the Canon of yesteryear
Pictures Quality: As with all Canon Cameras, the picture quality is decent. I had the original ELPH, then the 630, then the SX200IS, and now the SX210.

Exterior: Love the smaller form factor of the SX210 over the SX200IS. I still have issues with that POP-UP flash, my fat finger kept getting in the way because that’s where my left hand lands when I turn on the camera.

Controls: Look at my title. Canon has shuffled around a little the controls, I’m sure I’ll learn the new “features” and controls soon enough. Right now, the frustration is with taking video, I thought I was recording, but realize afterwards that the RECORD button wasn’t on. I missed out on a great shot of the SHUTTLE ATLANTIS going up!

Will edit as I learn more about this new camera.

5 Stars Best Point and Shoot I have Ever Purchased.
This is the best P&S camera I have ever purchased. There is little positive I can add that has not already been said, so I will only list my otherwise minor gripes about an otherwise great product.

Most armatures (like me) will find themselves using the AUTO feature quite often, at least until they are confident enough with the more specialized settings, and for the most part it is a great feature. One aspect I like is the ability to focus the AUTO setting to adjust based on the area of the scene that is most important. Such as center, surroundings, and full scene. However if you intend to take a lot of quick shots, it takes a few seconds to ‘prep’ the shot before it is perfect, which might be irritating… This is also the case when taking video. If you make rapid changes in distance and lighting, the few seconds of blur can be irritating.

Another thing is the speed with which the camera actually takes the pictures. Mine seems to pause about 3 seconds between every snap while I hold down the button. And this is even with preview disabled. Reducing the picture resolution doesn’t seem to have any effect either. Perhaps a faster SD card might help, but they get very expensive past the 15Mb/s rating. I wish there was a way to speed this up.

Lastly, the microphone. It is stereo, which is nice, but it seems to dull the higher ranges and is very easy to accidentally cover up with your fingers while taking long videos.

5 Stars Still Loving it
I have had this camera for a couple of weeks now and am still loving it. The image quality is great in both bright and low-light conditions.

When I first bought the camera I was experiencing the slow performance that many people have mentioned here. That problem disappeared when I got a newer memory card. The original memory card was one that I have had for years. It has become my backup-backup memory card now. With the new card I was able to consistently take pictures of flying snowballs during a snowball fight in my neighborhood.

3 Stars Its slow
Movie quality is good.

Two things didn’t like:

1. Very slow processing, it takes even longer after capturing movies.

2. Can not keep camera steady, will have to learn where to and how to adjust my left hand on camera!

1 Star This camera is to slow to be considered a camera!
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Cons: slow

This camera is to slow to be considered a camera – a sketch pad might be faster. There doesn’t seem to be a buffer and the save time to the memory card is agonizing slow. This camera would never be able to handle sports or children playing – you’d miss too many shots. It’s too bad because it has a lot of nice features in a small package. As a reference my G7 shoots twice as fast and its an older camera. Faster memory cards don’t seem to help much. I shot with a Class 4 and a Class 6 – no noticeable change.
