The pocketable PowerShot S90 gives powerful everyday shooting. Shoot quickly with a lens control ring and get superior low-light performance with a high-sensitivity 10.0 MP CCD and f/2.0 lens. A high-sensitivity CCD sensor gives outstanding image quality in a wide variety of lighting conditions. Even images taken at high ISOs show exceptionally low noise levels and a wide dynamic range. A bright f/2.0 aperture allows exceptional versatility, capturing low-light images and fast-moving subjects at higher shutter speeds. A wide angle of 28mm lets you put more in the frame, while Canon’s optical IS reduces blur caused by camera shake.

4 Stars First small form camera…
Quick impressions:

1. Working through the manual is not the quickest, so am using strictly on “auto” for now. Which means my shots are likely less than optimal at this point.

2. Not sure about “low light” as flash generally takes over and what you get is a flash picture. Not sure if flash can be overridden. But shot 85 pics indoors at a wedding reception and pics turned out okay, flash and all.

3. Regarding those same pics, they appear reasonably sharp when viewed on a 26″ high definition screen, though shot and stored as high res JPG’s.

4. Heavier than I expected, but I take that as a good thing. Otherwise, very portable. As part of intent was for my wife to easily carry in her purse, as we were missing too many picture opportunities with the grandkids. And she took most of the pics at the wedding reception.

5. Display screen is nice. No issues as such. 1st camera we’ve had without a viewfinder. So getting use to that.

6. The telephoto-wide angle lever is smaller than on my prior cameras, so I find myself fumbling just a bit to get a good finger tip hold to operate, but I would expect that to ease over time.

All in all, reasonably satisfied with my purchase.

5 Stars Hard to find a better one
I just want to touch a couple of points, since they seem to be the most controversial:

-the back ring, the one all the people complain about: maybe it’s my way to hold the camera, but I never accidentally moved it, so it’s not a constant. There is a website that offers, for about 3 bucks, a sort of plastic ring that goes around it and it appears it removes the problem

-battery life: I really don’t find it limiting, I shoot more than 500 pictures with it, some of them with flash

excellent camera, it happens that I bring it even when I have the reflex with me, and for travelling in big cities it’s a blessing, pocket size and wonderful pictures, a lot of control!

5 Stars Love this camera
When it comes to photography, I am lame. Even though I am an artist, I could arguably be the worst photographer on the planet. My mom once complained that art school was a waste after seeing my shots. Seriously.

The main issue is a combination of clunky menus that work against you in the spur of the moment, the quality of the camera, or portability. You had to compromise on something. I hate lugging gear or fumbling with a lens cap but wanted something better than a simple point and shoot. Shooting photos was more frustrating than fun. It seemed like a chore.

The S90 is a really fun camera to use and takes amazing pictures. The lcd screen is large with good color which makes it easy to compose shots. The onscreen information is really useful since I’m always forgetting something. It fits in a pocket and is easy to customize (I Googled “S90 tips” to customize settings). The control ring feels intuitive and this is the first time I can adjust shots on the fly. The layout of the buttons make sense. I have never ever ever been this comfortable with a camera.

The other reviewers on Amazon were spot on about the experience. I am one of the small group of people who are fine with the ergonomics. I would agree with others that the flash takes getting used to and the couple of times it popped up, I was startled and dropped the camera but had the wrist strap on so no harm was done.

This is a camera that is fun to use and takes amazing indoor or outdoor shots with excellent color.

p.s. The non hd video is fine for my purposes since I am a worse videographer than a photographer. Besides, if you ever import stuff into a computer, the HD files are too large to process for what most people would ever need.

1 Star Blurry Pictures…Ugh!
I bought this item just recently. I am a point and shoot photographer. I have owned several point and shoot Canons and have been quite happy with them. This one just didn’t behave like my other Canons. Half of my pictures were blurry and all seemed to be somewhat grainy. Total diappointment! I have sent it back to Amazon. I am not sure what to buy at this point, since I have always been a Canon fan, but this has shaken my trust in the product.

5 Stars Great camera for the money
This is one of the greatest cameras I have owned. Picture quality is phenomenal. Very versatile. Like taking SLR pictures with a digital point and shoot. Some people have mentioned problems accidentally moving the ring when taking pictures but I have not had this problem. The only issue I have had is that the flash often pops up where I am holding the camera. Very small but powerful. Highly recommend.

5 Stars Fabulous camera for Senior Citizen
I have a couple of digital cameras but my 78 yr old husband needed a camera with a viewfinder that was easy to operate and would generate clear pictures despite his hands being unsteady most of the time. This camera does it all! This camera is almost perfect in every way ! The only feature that we both are a bit disappointed in is the on/off button is small and level with the camera body,so it a bit hard to use. We would have preferred if the button has been raised a bit or even had a left to right on/off instead of an up/down button.I realize the goal was to keep the camera’s body small so button size was compromised to have room for everything.

We have never been so impressed with a camera’s ease of operation while giving you so many shooting options. I printed the full manual from the Canon USA website (136 pages) and gave it to my husband to read and learn before his 60th high school reunion in late Aug. He pretty well has mastered the camera overnight. The pictures are so clear, the color balanced and we have absolutely nothing to complain about regarding picture quality.

Clearly we are not advance photographers so don’t expect an in depth technical review. This is just a great point and shoot camera and it’s no wonder it gets such high marks on all camera web sites. Everyone loves this camera because it’s so easy to operate and produces great pictures. We love it too !!

2 Stars Too bad… A great little camera that takes awful pictures.
How disappointing! I currently own a Canon Powershot sd800is and I love it. Perfect pics & videos, excellent battery life, durable, no issues whatsoever. When my daughter saved her money up for a digital camera I really didn’t look much farther than Canon because I wanted her to have a great camera. Since the sd800is is no longer available we picked the updated version, the sd1200is, which has more mega-pixels and zoom than my old one.

When it arrived, we charged the battery and began taking indoor pictures. They were very blurry and they had a yellowish-orange glow. (We even had one that showed a blue & green orb floating by my staircase. STRANGE!) I tried adjusting the settings to fix the issues, but nothing worked. I’m not a camera expert, but I understand what most of the features and menu itmes do. I have used them on my sd800is with much success. I had my husband and his brother (both are smart techy guys) work with the camera. Still, we could not get it to take clear pictures. When I tried to take pics outside they came out virtually white, completely overexposed. My daughter tried taking some pics and did have success, but only if she took them in pitch darkness with the flash on. They were clear and sharp with good color. They looked like they had been taken with my old camera. But, how practical is a camera that only works in the dark???

I called Canon support and they took me through the same steps I had already tried, finally suggesting that I ship it in for service. They were very friendly, helpful, and professional, but they couldn’t replace the product, only service mine and return it to me in about 3 weeks.

After considering my 30 day return window with Amazon, I decided by the time I would get it back from Canon, if I wasn’t satisfied, I wouldn’t be able to return it. So I declined the Canon service and simply returned it to Amazon, which was also a very simple and painless process.

We ended up spending less than half as much on a Polaroid t1031. It doesn’t have all the cool features the Canon has (no video either), but it does have image stabilization, a rechargeable battery, and the greatest part… it takes good pictures! And she has some money left in her pocket so that’s a good thing as well.

I won’t say, “Don’t buy a Canon” because I love my old one and the features and customer service are great. I will say, “Don’t be afraid to return it.” Most of the reviews are great, but sometimes you get a lemon like I did. I chose not to make lemonade, I sent it back and got some pretty delicious orange soda. YUM!!!

5 Stars Great: But early to tell
The camera arrived quickly but does not come with a memory card so we couldn’t us it until we figured out which memory card we needed…this was another $30. Camera seems to work fine although we haven’t used it enough to judge the battery life. Overall, quite happy with the camera and it came highly recommended from a friend so we expect to enjoy it as much as she has…

5 Stars Wonderful
I love this camera ,I’ve been looking for a small digetal with a view window for some time ,almost all of the newer cameras come with out and you can’t see on a sunny day what your taking. Easy to use . I had to download the instruction DVD booklet ,136 pages for all of it uses so i wish it had come with it in booklet form other than that it’s a great camera and a great price.

5 Stars A huge improvement
This Canon SD1200 was purchased as replacement for my old Olympus Styus 300. It has triple the megapixels, a much larger screen, and no longer has that long irritating delay between pushing the button and getting the shot. Also, it’s only about half as thick and fits a pocket even more easily. I got mine in the fun orange color.

I’m just an amateur, but the ease of use and picture quality are vastly improved. And now that the SD1300′s are out, perfectly good 1200′s can be found at bargain prices. I recommend it.

Flip Video HDMI Cables

Flip Video HDMI Cables

41hYNER177L. SL75 Flip Video HDMI Cables

The Flip Video HDMI cables let you watch the vivid, vibrant HD video you’ve shot using your Flip UltraHD or Flip MinoHD 120 minute camcorder directly on your HDTV.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Money well spent.
These cables are standard HDMI and will work with components that require these end connecters. I ordered them to connect my Canon EOS Rebel T2i DSLR to my Sony HDTV. Both picture and sound are transferred with superior quality.

5 Stars For those trying to decide:
For those that are trying to decide between a cheap one or one with the Flip name (as I did) let me help you. We recently purchased a Flip UltraHD camera and as most HDMI cables are the same, regardless of what the store says, I bought a cheap one to use to connect to the TV. It should have worked but it didn’t.

I couldn’t get it to recognize the camera. Anyway, long story short, I bought this cable and it works great.

Moral of the story: sometimes the name does matter.

5 Stars works perfectly, and affordable for HDMI cables
I grabbed these guys on sale – it was much more affordable than buying 3rd party seperately. They work perfectly – no problems.

A little off topic, but when you plug your flip HD camcorder into a TV thru HDMI, it won’t be 720p on the TV. It’s the same resolution as the viewfinder on the camera (my ultra HD is 320 x 240). It’s not the fault of the cable, just how flip set up their camcorder. Not to worry – it’s still 720p video when you download it and watch it on your computer.

5 Stars Great Price – Excellent Quality
These cables are great price and quality for use with the FlipUltra HD. I keep one attached to my TV and the other is short to travel with.

4 Stars Cheapest mini HDMI Cables sold and shipped from Amazon
I was looking for the cheapest mini HDMI cables, from Amazon, for my Canon Powershot SD780IS and this is just what I needed. It comes with two mini HDMI, one long one and one really short one. It’s great having two because then I can leave one home and take one with me to family gatherings. The cables are pretty sturdy and have a good build quality to them, so what more do you need?

Everything about the PowerShot SX120 IS is easy. The Smart AUTO feature makes every shot picture-perfect. An impressive 10x Optical Zoom with Optical Image Stabilizer keeps you sharp and steady. There’s even an Easy Mode that makes shooting super simple.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars a dependable easy to use camera
My wife and I have been using this camera for about three months now. We have used it outdoors and indoors on still subjects and those in motion. It has performed flawlessly. By using the different modes such as indoor, kids and pets, etc. you can take great perfectly exposed pictures. For example, by using the indoor mode, we rarely use the flash, and the pictures turn out much brighter than if we had. I believe this prolongs battery life as well as avoids the slight delay after the flash is used. Ths controls are easy to use and understand. Yes, it is not the slimmest lightest camera made, but those chracteristics are not important to us. Features such as the incredible optical zoom, face recognition, the use of AA batteries and others are what is important to us and what led us to buy this camera instead of others that are currently on the market.

4 Stars Miss the viewfinder; like the screen size
I bought this to replace a Powershot A720 IS. This is a little heavier but the big screen is nice. However, not having a viewfinder is a problem at times in terrifically bright sunshine. As always, I resent having to go online for manuals–the A720 complete manual was included and thus could be easily carried with me if I needed a reference. No longer is this done.

5 Stars Digital Camera
This is our first digital camera. It came quickly and in perfect condition. I am still learning how to use it, but my photojournalist daughter pronounced it “a really terrific little camera.”

4 Stars Very Good, but needs a viewfinder.
This camera is a good value. It is light and compact, takes great pictures and videos, and is easy to operate. If it had a viewfinder, it would be great. But, having to use the 3″ LCD display as a viewfinder is very awkward when using it in sunlight. In sunlight it can be almost impossible to see anything on the LCD display. I like the camera, but this is a major drawback.

3 Stars good camera… for the money
I have only tried this 1 day so I am taking it back and trying a different one. I already had the s5is and loved it but I thought having a smaller camera was what I wanted. It just doesn’t take as good a picture and it is slow. I want a good zoom smaller body and a NMHi battery. The sony w150 I have takes better clearer pictures at dusk and mid afternoon. and the canon S5is takes better in the daylight and indoors. The sx120is is a good camera if you only want one camera and want it kinda small and I do like the lens cover better than a cap. also you can see the screen ok in the sun but the color is not really correct. It maybe true that cameras should not go above 8mp as well because I have had better luck with clarity on the 8mp and lower cameras.
